The second place we stopped in our Kielder adventure. At this point the clears skis had had been replaces with light snow. We descried to take a little walk into the forest to take some photos of the snow gently falling between the trees. The snow was just starting to make a fin layer on the ground so you could not see the actual materials the ground was made up of and this almost lead to disaster and the section of the forest that we where tracking over was in a dip was and had multiple little streams flowing across it and if you haven’t guests already we fell into a quagmire or peat bog over our knees. Luckily for us as it happened and I felt the ground giving way I moved all my weight back to my other foot and was able to pull us back out. After that we progressed very slowly as we were not in a position to back track and had to move forward across the morass. But other than miner drowning hazards it was a beautiful wander under the canopy of the forest.
