Before We Leave | Ep. 1 – The Peeps Have Discovered Potatoes. Civilization Begins
A brand-new adventure begins… and apparently it starts with potatoes.
Welcome to the first episode of our new series in Before We Leave, where a small group of curious Peeps steps out into the world to rebuild civilization from the ground up. There are resources to discover, settlements to build, and an entire universe waiting to be explored.
But for now… we start with farming.
Because every great civilization begins somewhere, and in this case it begins with a field full of potatoes.
🌍 Rebuilding Civilization in Before We Leave
Before We Leave is a charming and relaxing city-building game set in a cozy corner of the universe. Instead of conquest or conflict, the focus is on nurturing your people — affectionately known as Peeps — as they rediscover the lost knowledge of civilization.
Your task is to guide them as they:
- Explore their surroundings
- Gather resources
- Build new settlements
- Rediscover technology
- Expand across new lands… and eventually new planets
All while avoiding the slightly concerning presence of hungry Space Whales lurking out in the cosmos.
No pressure.
🥔 Episode 1 – The Potato-Powered Beginning
Every colony has humble beginnings.
In this first episode, our Peeps emerge from their underground shelter and begin exploring the world around them. It quickly becomes clear that survival depends on learning how to farm, gather resources, and build the foundations of a working settlement.
And yes… potatoes appear to be the cornerstone of our entire civilization.
In this episode you’ll see:
- The first steps of building a brand-new colony
- Resource gathering and early settlement planning
- The charming world and mechanics of the game
- A few experimental decisions that may or may not work out
It’s the start of a cozy and relaxing journey that will eventually take us beyond our starting island and into space.
But first… agriculture.
