Greetings Space Cadets, sad news today I took the Little Guy Sage & Onion for a checkup and to get his beak cleaned as he had had an infection only to get a call from the Vets to say that the infection had spread and it was time. At least I got to go and see him as the vets office is opposite our office, get the Little Guy a cuddle before they took him. Although I have only had him from 2015 – 2016 he was a lot older, I only got him a year ago as he and three other where the sole survivors form a friend’s flock that got decimated by a Fox, back when he was called Eric, as in Eric and Ernie pared with his double act our other male chicken that we called The Colonel who we lost last year.
I will miss The Little Guy and his calling at 0530 every morning, and sneaking up behind, him tapping him on the shoulder making him do a back flip. He could never see you through his big afro. He will also be missed by his Girls. Bisto took the loss of The Colonel badly, sitting in all the spots where he sat waiting for him, she didn’t like it when I put him in the carry box this morning and tonight she wouldn’t come in, trying to run to the garage looking for him as he often stood next to a bucket of rain water that he like to drink form.
