Sniper Elite V2 Remastered | Ep. 13 – The Landwehr Canal DLC
Precision gameplay continues with more stealth, patience, and those moments where everything either goes perfectly… or catastrophically loud.
The war-torn streets of Berlin are never forgiving, but The Landwehr Canal DLC pushed things to a completely different level. What began as another calculated sniper operation quickly spiralled into one of the most chaotic, exhausting, and strangely hilarious missions the series has seen so far. Every alleyway became a trap, every checkpoint a gamble, and every enemy soldier seemed determined to appear from thin air at exactly the worst possible moment.
This episode wasn’t just about survival — it became a battle of stubbornness against one of the nastiest death loops imaginable. And somehow, against all odds, we made it through.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered drops players into the shattered ruins of Berlin during the final days of World War II. Playing as elite sniper Karl Fairburne, every mission blends stealth, long-range precision shooting, tactical movement, and brutal close-quarters survival.
The remastered edition brings updated visuals, all DLC content, and the signature X-ray kill cam that made the series legendary. Every bullet matters, every mistake can turn deadly in seconds, and patience is often the difference between a clean extraction and total disaster.
But sometimes… the game decides patience isn’t enough.
🌆 Where We Are in the Journey
By Episode 13, we’ve moved deep into the DLC content of Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, taking on some of the toughest missions the game has to offer before preparing to move on to Sniper Elite 3 next week.
The Landwehr Canal DLC sits firmly in that late-game challenge territory where enemies hit harder, checkpoints become more punishing, and the game expects near-perfect execution. Unfortunately for us, this mission also introduced one of the most brutal checkpoint traps we’ve encountered in the entire series.
And once the death loops started… there was no easy way out.
🔥 What Happens in This Episode
The mission opened with confidence. Careful movement through the ruined streets, clean sniper shots, and the familiar rhythm of stealth gameplay made it feel like another solid operation was underway. Chat was already joking about “plum hunting” and waiting for those trademark X-ray kills as Karl Fairburne pushed deeper into the canal district.
Then came the mistake.
Pushing too aggressively into a heavily fortified area without properly securing the enemies behind us triggered a checkpoint at exactly the wrong moment. Under normal circumstances it wouldn’t have mattered — but seconds later we were gunned down and thrown straight into what became the defining nightmare of the stream.
The checkpoint respawned us directly into a crossfire.
Every enemy we hadn’t fully cleared had reset to their original positions, meaning every single respawn became instant chaos. Machine gun fire tore through the alleyway, snipers opened up from impossible angles, and every attempt to escape only seemed to attract more enemies. Before long, chat had fully embraced the madness as “#Deathloop” became the unofficial title of the mission.
What followed was a brutal cycle of tactical retreats, desperate flanking attempts, and pure stubborn refusal to restart the level. Every time it looked like the area was finally secure, another soldier would appear from nowhere to throw the entire situation back into chaos. Ravenholm repeatedly shouted “Where did he come from?” while chat blamed Frodo for somehow “creating the checkpoint” itself.
The worst part was knowing there wasn’t another checkpoint for a very long time.
Still, giving up was never really an option. “Never give up, never surrender” became the energy that carried the mission forward as we slowly clawed our way through the endless crossfire. Eventually, after what felt like an eternity of deaths, we finally reached the next checkpoint… only for the enemies to immediately begin charging every hiding spot no matter where we moved.
So the stealth went out the window.
What followed was pure chaos as Ravenholm started giving the enemy the runaround, circling behind advancing troops and making them “dance” at the end of a machine gun barrel. Somehow, through the confusion, the three commanders were eliminated and the route to extraction finally opened up.
Or so we thought.
Because naturally, the game decided to send in a tank.
The final stretch became another desperate scramble as invisible hitboxes on nearby cover repeatedly caused grenades to bounce back instead of hitting the tank’s exposed fuel tanks. More panic, more shouting, and more near disasters followed before we finally managed to reposition for a clean shot.
One explosion later, the tank was gone.
Then it was a full sprint for the canal and the extraction point as the mission finally — finally — came to an end after an exhausting 18-death battle through one of the toughest DLC missions yet.
After surviving the canal, the stream shifted gears into Marbles on Stream, where Mr V’s winning streak finally came crashing down thanks to papasoup60 taking first place in two out of three marble races. To close out the night, we raided into Ashens and passed the chaos on to another corner of Twitch.

Berlin tried everything to stop us this time — broken checkpoints, endless ambushes, invisible grenade collisions, and eighteen brutal death loops later, somehow the mission still ended in victory.
The canal is behind us now. One final expansion mission remains before the road leads onward to Sniper Elite 3.
