Duck Side of the Moon | Ep. 2 – Floating Through Space With Maximum Cuteness
More cozy moon adventures awaited us in this second trip through Duck Side of the Moon, but “cozy” quickly turned into complete duck-powered chaos. Between battling the UK heat wave, wrestling with controls that absolutely refused to cooperate, and chasing down stolen spaceship engines across floating islands, this stream somehow became both relaxing and completely unhinged at the same time.
There’s something strangely magical about this game though. One minute you’re drifting peacefully through space as an adorable duck exploring strange worlds, and the next you’re trying to stop an erupting volcano while chat debates whether invisible Pokémon are responsible for the disaster. Somehow, it all fits perfectly.
🌌 About the Game
Duck Side of the Moon is one of those wonderfully bizarre indie adventures that feels impossible to explain properly until you experience it yourself. You play as a stranded duck drifting through space, exploring floating islands, solving puzzles, collecting strange materials, and slowly rebuilding your damaged ship.
The game mixes cozy exploration with physics-based puzzles, quirky characters, and an almost dreamlike sense of humour. Every new location feels unpredictable, whether you’re helping island communities, navigating gravity mechanics, or stumbling into random carnival mini-games that suddenly consume half the stream.
And honestly, floating through space as a tiny duck while absurd music blares in the background is exactly the kind of energy this game thrives on.
❄️ Where We Are in the Journey
This episode picks up with our stranded duck still trying to fully recover and repair the crashed ship after the opening events of the adventure. While progress was definitely made this time around, the journey quickly evolved from a simple repair mission into a full-blown detective story involving stolen engines, erupting volcanoes, stressed dragons, and surprisingly wholesome moments hidden underneath all the chaos.
By the end of the stream, the future of our “new home world” looked very different than expected — and it’s becoming increasingly clear that this strange little galaxy has far more secrets waiting ahead.
🔥 What Happens in This Episode
The night began with immediate struggles against both the UK heat wave and the game’s controls, which continued to fight back every step of the way. Ravenholm repeatedly compared them to I Am Fish, wishing they behaved even remotely the same while attempting to reconnect damaged railway tracks needed to recover the ship’s missing engines.
After plenty of awkward gravity gadget usage and increasingly frustrated duck navigation, the repaired train finally arrived carrying what should have been the missing engines… except they turned out to be fake.
Naturally, the stream immediately transformed into a detective story.
Chat instantly began accusing every suspicious-looking passenger imaginable, with “Frodo” somehow becoming the prime suspect for absolutely everything. As Ravenholm questioned NPCs and followed increasingly strange clues, the investigation eventually revealed the truth: the engines had been stolen by a nervous character desperate to prove himself. Hidden beneath all the absurdity was a surprisingly heartfelt little story about self-worth and feeling useful — delivered, somehow, through ducks in space.
Of course, solving mysteries wasn’t enough chaos for one stream.
The adventure repeatedly detoured into the island carnival where Ravenholm tackled shooting galleries, bowling games, and ticket challenges while chat alternated between encouragement and complete mockery. The bowling section became one of the funniest disasters of the night thanks to physics that absolutely refused to cooperate. Pins somehow survived direct hits, near-perfect throws failed spectacularly, and frustration steadily increased with every impossible miss.
Eventually though, victory arrived. The hard-earned tickets were spent on ice cream for a child NPC — something chat immediately pointed out the kid probably could have earned themselves in under five minutes.
Things escalated dramatically once the volcano region erupted.
With fires breaking out across the island, Ravenholm had to use the gravity gadget to search for floating water bubbles hidden throughout the area. What should have been a straightforward rescue mission quickly turned into an extended scavenger hunt as both streamer and chat completely lost track of where the final water source was hiding.
Suggestions from chat ranged from genuinely useful directions to simply “pee on it,” which perfectly captured the overall energy of the evening.
Eventually, after searching awkward corners of the island and fighting both terrain and controls yet again, the final hidden water bubble was discovered and the town was saved from the spreading flames.
But the volcano still held one final surprise.
Inside waited a dragon who wasn’t evil, dangerous, or destructive — just deeply overwhelmed and feeling a little down. Rather than fighting the dragon, the solution became throwing him a dance party and delivering a giant cake to cheer him up. It was exactly the kind of unexpectedly wholesome nonsense this game thrives on.
Meanwhile, the stream itself continued descending into beautiful chaos. The now-infamous “cheese music” evolved into full AI-generated metal madness with VOLCANO OF CHEESE (The Fondoom Symphony) completely derailing chat. Stryker_500 compared it to a Falling In Reverse-style track while AIDA spent half the stream aggressively flirting with viewers in the background. Between Hunger Games events, Pokémon hunts, and constant commentary from Gary, Smith, JD, and the regulars, the stream never stayed focused for more than a few minutes at a time.
The community energy only got stronger when the stream was raided by asmith501, adding even more chaos to an already wonderfully cursed evening. And by the end of the night, Ravenholm returned the favour by raiding into DashDucks to continue the adventure elsewhere.
By the time the stream wrapped up, the engines had finally been recovered, the volcano town had been saved, and the crashed ship was at least partially freed… although it may also now be trapped inside a wall somehow. Most importantly though, our wandering duck finally reached what was supposed to become a brand-new home world, only to realise something unexpected:
Maybe home was already here all along.

🛰️ Closing Thoughts
The duck survived exploding volcanoes, impossible bowling physics, fake engines, detective work, and weaponised cheese music… somehow.
And honestly, that feels like the perfect summary of Duck Side of the Moon so far.
Until next time, stay safe out there in the void.
