Construction Simulator | Ep. 35 – Finishing the Car Park Before Anyone Notices My Mistakes
Back on the construction site once again, and somehow what should have been a straightforward evening of laying asphalt turned into exactly the sort of chaos longtime viewers of the channel have come to expect. One minute we’re hauling machinery across the map with confidence, the next we’re conducting questionable science experiments and wondering why half the vehicles have suddenly stopped cooperating.
After finally escaping the year-long museum build and its infamous cursed concrete pump, this episode was meant to be a quieter side project. A simple car park. A nice, relaxing construction job. Naturally, Construction Simulator had other ideas.
🚧 About the Game
Construction Simulator is back bigger and better than ever, putting players behind the controls of more than 70 officially licensed machines across two enormous maps. Whether you’re operating cranes, excavators, dump trucks or asphalt pavers, the game mixes detailed machinery with satisfying long-term projects and plenty of opportunities for things to go hilariously wrong.
And honestly? Sometimes the most memorable moments aren’t the perfectly completed jobs — they’re the disasters you somehow recover from.
🏗️ Where We Are in the Journey
This episode picks up immediately after our massive museum project finally came to an end. That build stretched on for what felt like an eternity and left us traumatised by the dreaded concrete pump, a machine that somehow became the villain of the entire series.
Rather than diving straight back into the main campaign, we decided to tackle a side contract: building a brand-new car park. Last week we made good progress with the groundwork, and this stream was all about finishing the gravel, laying the asphalt, and hopefully completing the job without creating a fresh list of construction-related disasters.
🔥 What Happens in This Episode
The evening begins with the final stretch of gravel work. After spending last week’s stream preparing the site, it was finally time to compact the surface and squeeze every last percentage point out of the objective. Of course, even the simplest jobs become entertaining when chat is involved.
Advice flew in from every direction as viewers debated whether the loader or bulldozer was the better choice, while comparisons to real-life roadworks spiralled into jokes about council workers standing around supervising a single person with a shovel. Somehow, the conversation wandered through The Witcher, Dune, Doctor Who, and whatever chaos was unfolding elsewhere in chat.
Once the gravel was finally completed, attention turned to asphalt — or as it quickly became known during the stream, “Thick Lube.”
Before heading to the work site, we stopped at the depot to pick up the asphalt laying machine and load it onto the trailer. Then came one of those moments that nobody expects to work. Could we actually fill the asphalt paver while it was still sitting on the trailer?
Against all expectations… yes.
It was one of those bizarre little victories that instantly becomes canon.
Armed with our surprisingly well-stocked machine, we made the long drive across the map to the car park site and began laying asphalt in earnest. The work was going smoothly right up until it wasn’t. After emptying the paver, I confidently drove the asphalt truck back for another load, only to realise I’d forgotten it still had half a tank remaining.
Construction may be about planning, but this stream has never pretended to be.
Meanwhile, trucks bounced across terrain they really shouldn’t have been driving on, routes were missed, signs were clipped, and at least one unfortunate vehicle needed resetting after an encounter with the map geometry. The unofficial motto of the evening quickly became #BlameGary, whether Gary was responsible or not.
Chat embraced the madness.
Viewers swapped stories of their own Construction Simulator adventures, with Vvoornth talking about conquering multiple maps and tackling the German finale. Happy Cat was busy fighting trains over in Satisfactory, and for a brief moment a Hunger Games mini-game stole the spotlight — ending with Dr Ravenholm being eliminated far earlier than anyone was surprised by.
Then there was the return of one of chat’s greatest creations: “Gary’s Jealous of My Spaghetti.”
Nobody could agree whether Gary was actually jealous. Gary certainly denied it. Naturally, nobody believed him.
As the final phase of the car park approached, reinforcements arrived. Mr Smith took control of the asphalt layer while I climbed aboard what chat affectionately dubbed the “asphalt jiggler” to compact the freshly laid surface.
Even then, Construction Simulator refused to let us finish quietly.
Multiplayer synchronisation began acting up, vehicles locked in place, and more than a few resets became necessary as the game briefly forgot how physics was supposed to work. But after plenty of persistence—and a healthy amount of laughter—the car park was finally complete.
Which meant there was only one thing left to do.
Mess about with an excavator.
Naturally, the stream ended with us grabbing other vehicles using the excavator arm and generally causing the sort of chaos no health and safety officer would ever approve.
And honestly?
That might have been the most Construction Simulator ending imaginable.
To round things off, we raided into OurChickenLife, passing the chaos along to another fantastic community and ending the evening on a high note. With the car park finally finished, next week we’ll be returning to the main campaign.
Hopefully.
And hopefully without the cursed concrete pump making its inevitable return.

The car park is finished, the excavators have been safely parked away… probably… and for one glorious week the cursed concrete pump remains somebody else’s problem.
Until next time, take care of yourselves, keep the tea flowing, and I’ll see you back on the construction site.
