Construction Simulator | Ep. 36 – The Building Looks Straight From This Angle
Back on the construction site, and everything is running perfectly… provided you stand in exactly the right spot, squint slightly, and avoid asking difficult questions about where all the soil is supposed to go.
After finally wrapping up the long-running car park project, it was time to return to the Construction Simulator campaign and take on a brand-new challenge. What should have been a straightforward infrastructure job quickly became a battle against stubborn unloading zones, oversized machinery, and the eternal struggle between a construction manager and game mechanics that refuse to cooperate.
🚧 About the Game
Construction Simulator puts players in charge of a growing construction company, giving access to more than 70 vehicles and machines across two large maps packed with contracts and projects.
From excavators and cranes to dump trucks and road-building equipment, every job requires planning, logistics, and a healthy amount of patience. Playing on the highest difficulty adds another layer of realism, requiring materials to be transported properly instead of simply spawning them into existence, making every completed project feel earned.
🗺️ Where We Are in the Journey
Episode 36 marks the beginning of a new chapter in the campaign.
With the lengthy car park project finally completed, attention now turns toward the first Transport Links contracts. This episode begins work on a Noise Barrier project, laying the groundwork for future infrastructure improvements and setting up what should have been a relatively straightforward excavation job.
As it turns out, “straightforward” is a very flexible term.
⚠️ What Happens in This Episode
The evening began with preparations for the next campaign mission as equipment was gathered, vehicles were retrieved from storage, and plans were made for the first stage of the Transport Links project. The goal was simple enough: begin construction of a Noise Barrier by excavating the required trench and preparing the site.
Work started well. The excavator was moved into position and the digging operation got underway without too much trouble. Before long, however, an important discovery changed the plan. Sitting in the fleet was a giant dumper truck that could handle far more spoil than the smaller vehicles normally used.
Naturally, the larger truck seemed like the perfect solution.
At first, it looked like a brilliant decision. Soil was loaded, transported, and hauled away from the construction site with far greater efficiency than before. The trouble only began when it was time to unload.
What followed became the defining battle of the stream.
The disposal area demanded an incredibly precise unloading position, and the sheer size of the dumper truck made finding that magical pixel an adventure all by itself. The first spoil run eventually worked, earning roughly £1700 after a prolonged wrestling match with positioning. The second trip was less successful, bringing in only around £400 as not all of the load landed where the game wanted it.
Then came the third trip.
For nearly thirty minutes the construction project ground to a halt as an increasingly stubborn battle unfolded between driver and disposal zone. Every adjustment looked promising until the game decided otherwise. What should have been a routine dump run became a full-scale test of patience, determination, and sanity.
Eventually a practical compromise was reached. Future trips would still be driven to the disposal facility properly, maintaining the realistic playstyle of the highest difficulty setting, but the actual removal of the soil would be handled through the radial menu to work around what appeared to be a frustrating game glitch.
Despite the setbacks, genuine progress was made. The trench excavation was completed and approximately 20% of the Noise Barrier project was finished, leaving everything prepared for the next phase of construction.
Away from the worksite, chat provided its usual mixture of chaos and entertainment. Conversations drifted between movie nights, parody films, retro gaming hardware, old computers, floppy drives, and the disappearing world of physical media. Discussions about the summer heat became a recurring theme as viewers compared sweltering UK temperatures against reports of winter weather elsewhere.
The community also witnessed the rise of an unexpected saga involving Spiffy Mango and Not Spiffy Mango. What began as simple confusion evolved into challenges, rivalries, Hunger Games tributes, and a dramatic showdown that kept chat entertained throughout the evening.
By the end of the stream, the construction site may not have looked dramatically different, but the foundations had been laid for the next stage of the campaign. Sometimes progress is measured in completed trenches. Sometimes it’s measured in surviving thirty minutes of arguing with a pile of virtual dirt.
As the stream came to a close, we raided over to Rooville to continue the evening’s adventures with another fantastic community creator.

🌙 Closing Thoughts
The trench is dug, the first stage of the Noise Barrier is underway, and valuable lessons have been learned about trusting oversized dumper trucks.
Until next time, keep the engines running, keep the plans flexible, and remember: every building looks straight from the right angle.
